Research Methodology

The project employs an interdisciplinary approach, combining methods from artificial intelligence, urban planning, simulation, and visualization:

  • Analysis of existing urban planning methods and best practices for microclimate improvement.
  • Development of a conceptual system design for the AI-based planning assistant GAIA.
  • Integration of GIS data, climate models, and digital twins.
  • Implementation of natural language user interaction for intuitive use.
  • Iterative evaluation of planning proposals through simulation and visual feedback. 

The system is designed to actively support planners without replacing existing expertise.
